The code and the documentation are Apache-2.0 — see LICENSE. Fork it, adapt it, ship things with it.
The name and the identity are not part of that grant. Reserved: the name opsinist, and the mascot, avatar and logo shipped in assets/.
What that means in practice
Allowed — using the skill, forking it, modifying it, building on it, and saying so: "built with opsinist", "a fork of opsinist", "opsinist-compatible".
Not allowed — using the name or the mascot for a fork or a derivative in a way that suggests it is this project, or that this project endorses it. Rename your fork; that is the whole ask.
Ask if unsure. The line is about confusion, not control: the point is that someone encountering the name knows which thing they are looking at.
About other people's marks
This project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic.
Claude and Claude Code are Anthropic's marks, used here only descriptively — to say what this runs on. The name opsinist is deliberately independent of them: their guidelines require prior approval for trademark use and forbid implying affiliation, so a neutral name plus a descriptive subtitle is the pattern used here — "opsinist — an operations skill for Claude Code" — and never a name derived from theirs.
(Checked 2026-07-28 against Anthropic's published trademark guidelines. If those change, this file is wrong before anything else here is, and re-verifying it is part of a release.)
Any other product, service or company named in this repository is named descriptively, and its marks belong to its owners.
